Desde el primero de octubre, la diseñadora Matali Crasset se ha hecho cargo de la Galería de los Niños del Centro Pompidou (http://www.centrepompidou.fr), con Blobterre Matali, una original propuesta, que toma la forma de un jardín artificial dedicado a explorar y crear.
El Blobterre ha sido concebido como una “obra de arte total” o "Gesamtkunstwerk", con sus propios sonidos, olores especiales, plantas y habitantes. Se trata de un espacio concebido enteramente por la diseñadora, sumergido en una abundante neo-vegetación, y que funciona como una plataforma dedicada a lo imaginario en la que el público experimentará con los “extratoofs”o los “domosquelettes”…
From 1st October 2011, the designer Matali Crasset will take over the Children’s Gallery in the Centre Pompidou with matali’s Blobterre, an original proposal which takes the form of an artificial garden dedicated to exploring and creating.
The Blobterre is therefore a work of fiction thought out as a global creation, it functions simi- larly to a “Gesamtkunstwerk”, with its own sounds, its special odours, its specific plant elements and its inhabitants. A pure invention by the designer, this hybrid area submerged by an abundant neo-vegetation is a platform dedicated to the imaginary. It will be up to the public to make its own experiences and to venture between the extratoofs or the domosquelettes…
The Blobterre is therefore a work of fiction thought out as a global creation, it functions simi- larly to a “Gesamtkunstwerk”, with its own sounds, its special odours, its specific plant elements and its inhabitants. A pure invention by the designer, this hybrid area submerged by an abundant neo-vegetation is a platform dedicated to the imaginary. It will be up to the public to make its own experiences and to venture between the extratoofs or the domosquelettes…

Primitivo y artificial al mismo tiempo, Blobterre sugiere una aventura en una época diferente. Un momento de la vida blobterriana puede ser un día, una noche o una estación. Se trata de un espacio pensado para estimular al visitante, en el que reinan los conceptos de vida, conciencia, observación, escucha o aprendizaje.
En este proyecto Matali ha querido además llamar a algunos de los colaboradores con los que, en el pasado, que ya había trabajado, experimentado y compartido. Ha querido crear una red de complicidad, reuniendo a su alrededor a aquellos cuya forma de pensar están cerca de la suya.
De esta manera, han participado en el proyecto: Domeau y Pérès (http://domeauperes.com), con quien trabaja desde hace casi 15 años; Campeggi (http://www.campeggisrl.it); Nodus (http://www.nodusrug.it), que ha realizado una alfombra anudada en Nepal; Tarkett (http://www.tarkett-commercial.com), que ha suministrado el pavimento; Blachère (http://www.blachere-illumination.com), que ha producido las estructuras de metal; LMA Alitecno (http://www.lma.pt) que ha producido el tejido que Procédé Chenel (http://www.chenel.com) ha transformado; Firmenich (http://www.firmenich.com) que ha ideado el olor; la Escuela Superior de Arte y Diseño en Ginebra (http://head.hesge.ch) en la que Matali realizó un taller para idear los "extratoofs" con los estudiantes; desde HI life a Viriato, de Danese (http://www.danesemilano.com) a Pallucco (http://www.pallucco.com), de Confort Mousse (http://www.confortmousse.fr) a Sphère (http://www.spheredeco.fr) ... blobterre muestra de esta manera que el diseño es también una aventura humana.

This is a place which catches you up, which carries you along where the words life, conscience, observation, listening or learning are king.
To make this experimentation area intended for the public, matali wanted to call on some of the partners with whom, in the past, she had already experimented, tested and shared. A network of complicity, a way of wishing to gather around her those whose way of thinking are close to her own.
In this way, the tapestry weavers Domeau & Pérès, with whom she has been collaborating for almost 15 years, from Campeggi to Nodus who made a knotted carpet in Nepal, from Tarkett who supplied the floor, to Blachère who produced the metal structures, from LMA Alitecno who produced a fabric to Procéde Chenel who transformed it, from Firmenich who thought up an odour, from the High School of Art and Design in Geneva with which matali ran a workshop to think about the “extratoofs” with the students, from HI life to Viriato, from Danese to Pallucco, Confort Mousse to Sphère… the blobterre shows that design is also a human adventure.
